Blog 42 - Why I think my argument is relevant.

Today I finally went to the writing center. I think the best time to go to the writing center is at this stage of writing, when you’ve written a draft. The advisor really helped work out some problems I had. She showed me ideas that I really needed to develop more, and also gave me advice on when to cite and the best way to cite a paper. After going to the writing center, I realized that I wrote down most of the necessary information in my paper. I just need to connect the dots. It was also really helpful to discuss my ideas for the paper. It helped me see things better, and now I am looking forward to amending my research paper and making it even better.
However, that isn’t what my blog is meant to be about. Getting back to the topic, I believe my Commonplace paper argument is relevant because it affects almost all of us. All of us (I believe and hope) watch television, and I think we all have a right to enjoy what we watch. Also there is the fact that the issue of too much sex on television not only affects the current generation, but affects the ones to come. Television is quickly becoming, or in most places has become a fixture in every household.  Therefore, there is cause to be concerned about what we watch. Growing up, most of us had role models on television. Whether it was in a cartoon or series, I’m sure we all had someone on television we looked up to. (This idea would have been a good personal anecdote to blog about earlier: curses!)
But who will the children of the coming generations look up to on television if all they see are meaningless sex scenes in movies or shows that show abundance of sex, but pass no important moral. They are bound to lose their way if things stay the way they are. Which is why we need to change for the better, ASAP.
