Jennifer’s body is a 2009 movie featuring Megan Fox and Amanda Seyfried. Honestly, I only decided to watch the movie because I saw a preview and realized Megan Fox was in it.I’m sure most people did the same. However, the film was not what I expected. Some others might have found the movie interesting, but I found the plot completely tasteless.
Jennifer (Megan Fox) is sacrificed by a rock band to Satan in exchange for their success. As a result of the sacrifice, she is possessed by a demon and has to feed on humans to survive. This is a source of conflict(obviously) between her and her best friend. Jennifer ends up killing two guys before deciding to kill her best friend’s boyfriend.
Naturally, Jennifer and her friend, Needy (Amanda Seyfried) fight as result of this. In the ensuing struggle, Needy manages to kill Jennifer. However, as a result Needy is institutionalized. She becomes, a hardened, violent person. The movie ends after we discover that Needy has managed to get some of the ‘demon blood’ into her system and so can do extra-ordinary things.
This is a clear example of how sex sells. Nowadays, Megan Fox is a sex symbol and I doubt anyone would have decided to watch that movie if not for the fact that Megan Fox was in it. What does this say about us as a society? We have forsaken more important things at the expense of injecting sex into every possible scene. That needs to change.
