So tonight I watched 1990’s horror/thriller movie titled ‘The Leprechaun.’ You guessed it: it’s about a leprechaun. This particular leprechaun had his pot of gold stolen by a man. At the beginning of the movie he sneaks into the said man’s house and causes his wife to fall down the stairs, effectively killing her. He then threatens the man and asks him where his gold is. The man informs the leprechaun that he has hidden the gold somewhere. He pulls out a four leafed clover, which seems to be the leprechaun’s kryptonite. He traps the leprechaun in a box and after pouring gasoline on the box, gets ready to set it on fire. However, before he can do this, he has a heart attack and is subsequently institutionalized.
Fast forward ten years, and young lady, portrayed by Jennifer Aniston, take a vacation and decide to move into the house. The leprechaun is still trapped in the box in the basement because the four leafed clover is still on top of the box. The clover comes off and he is finally free. He decides to get his gold back, all 100 coins. By some peculiar turn of events some of the residents find the pot of gold, and one of them ends up swallowing one. A murderous leprechaun is running loose meanwhile, hell-bent on getting his gold back. He manages to get all but the one that was swallowed back, but he doesn’t give up. He wants ALL the coins. He plans to kill a man just to get his last coin back. The group finds out that the only way to kill the leprechaun is too put a four leafed clover on him to weaken him, and then destroy him. They manage to do all that, but somehow he survives in the end.
Freaky right?
Off to bed for me.
