Blog 39 - Hypothetical Situation for Commonplace Article

Today we are meant to write a hypothetical situation that we can use in our Commonplace paper.
I was thinking of using a hypothetical situation probably halfway through my article or to end my article. Following is my situation. Think of it as being cut out from a longer paper:
With this evolution of our society, we might be leaving a bleak future for our children. Imagine if as children, we were not protected from sex by our parents. We would have probably been traumatized if our parents tried to give us ‘the talk’ at three years old. Such exposure at a young age could have adversely our intellectual growth.
Don’t get me wrong. I do not believe that parents should protect their children from everything. I just believe that we should be introduced to some aspects of life later on, when we can fully understand and appreciate them.  A child is not mature enough to understand the importance of sex, and is definitely not mature enough to understand the implications.
Most people will agree with me about this. But if we agree, then why are we so keen to make sure that it happens? Does our society’s evolution matter so much that we are ready to risk the future of our children? Maybe we should take our feet off the pedal, before we go too far down a road that we cannot come back from. We have to do something now, because from now on, it will only get worse.
